Johnny Lever, Kapil Sharma, Bharti Singh, Kiku Sharda and several others attend Raju Srivastava’s prayer meet

Johnny Lever, Kapil Sharma, Bharti Singh, Kiku Sharda, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kay Kay Menon, Sukhwinder Singh, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Sunil Pal, Ahsaan Qureshi, Shailesh Lodha, Sugandha Mishra, Sanket Bhosale, director duo Abbas-Mustan and host of other celebrities paid homage to late comedian Raju Srivastava during his prayer meet, which was held at the ISKON temple, Juhu in Mumbai on September 25, 2022. Raju Srivastava died on September 21 in the ICU of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after 40 days of hospitalisation. The comedian was rushed to the hospital after he complained of chest pain while working out at a gym in Delhi on September 10. He suffered a cardiac arrest and went into a coma soon after. Raju was a part of the entertainment industry since the 1980s and shot to fame after participating in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ in 2005. Raju had also joined politics to serve the nation. He made a foray into politics in 2014 from the Samajwadi Party but later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) the same year in a gap of few days. Several national leaders and celebrities expressed their condolences to Raju Srivastava’s family, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Raju Srivastava is survived by wife Shikha and children Antara and Ayushman.
