Wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sangeeta Phogat to tie the knot
Freestyle wrestler Bajrang Punia, who currently holds the world No.1 spot in 65kg category will soon be tying the knot with wrestler Sangeeta Phogat, who is the youngest of the Phogat sisters. In an interview with TOI, Sangeeta's father Mahavir Phogat confirmed the news saying, "Talks are going on between the two families, but no final decision has been taken. All I can say that it's the wish of these children and we respect their feelings. On my part, I can say that I am a happy man. I have never stopped my daughters from choosing their respective life partners. I always told them you choose your partner, think about who you are going to be happy with and then decide. If you feel like, then go ahead. I am happy for Sangeeta. After Tokyo, we'll decide about it (wedding)." However, Sangeeta and Bajrang Punia have not commented on the news yet. Sangeeta's elder sisters Geeta and Vinesh Phogat are married to wrestlers Somvir Rathee and Pawan Kumar respectively. (Photos: Instagram)
