WWE Champion Kurt Angle announces retirement match

WWE Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle has announced that he would retire after his WrestleMania 35 match on April 7, 2019, in front of his hometown crowd in Pittsburgh. The professional wrestler who won the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics, served as the headlining inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017, after keeping away for almost 10 years from the WWE company. In his WrestleMania 34 match, he was seen teaming up with the former MMA champion Ronda Rousey who made her debut, against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. The opponent for the 50-year-old's farewell match has not been announced yet. While announcing his retirement Angle delivered an emotional speech, he said, "I'd like to thank the WWE, I'd like to thank every superstar that I've shared the locker room with, and most importantly, I want to thank each and every one of you." One of his former opponents John Cena has praised Angle saying, "He is, without question, the most gifted all-around performer we have ever had step into a ring.
