Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton wins his third Monaco Grand Prix on May 26, 2019 - Photogallery
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton wins his third Monaco Grand Prix on May 26, 2019. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas secured the second and third place respectively. After his victory, Hamilton spoke about Niki Lauda who passed away recently, he said, "To have a cloud over us this weekend, we have tried to lift each other up and tried to deliver for Niki. P1 and P2 were good for me. Then the car didn’t feel as good for me today. I have been throwing the car around, and I was struggling to get a first lap time out of tyres, so I did a prep lap. The timed lap wasn’t very good, so I pushed on the first lap of my final run". During the race, Racing Point's driver Sergio Perez almost ran over a track official. In an interview, he said, "Man what was wrong with those marshals? I nearly killed him! That was really bad. They were just running back and I was coming out of the pits. I had to brake and they were very lucky that I avoided them.” Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc of Ferrari retired during the game and Max Verstappen has been given two penalty points. There have been reports that Leclerc was 'impatient' and 'frustrated'. The driver defended himself saying, "I had to take a lot of risks, which we did - it was fun at the beginning, unfortunately, it ended in disaster, but that's a bit Monaco."(AFP) ()See more of :
