As for the juries, American director Damien Chazelle is the president for the main competition, while French filmmaker Alice Diop and Italian Jonas Carpignano lead the juries for the Luigi de Laurentis Award and the Orizzonti section respectively. The SAG-AFTRA strike has stirred some concerns, acknowledged by Venice's artistic director, Alberto Barbera. The strike is poised to affect the festival's glitz and glamour by sidelining Hollywood celebrities, as they are unable to participate in promotional activities. Despite this, the festival will push through, showcasing more European movies than usual. Even some much-anticipated world premieres like Ethan Coen's 'Drive-Away-Dolls' have been deferred.
