North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin recently met to discuss military issues, the Ukraine conflict, and North Korea's satellite programme. During the visit, Putin showed Kim Russia's advanced space rocket launch site and talked about potentially sending a North Korean astronaut into space. The two leaders also touched on military cooperation, which has raised concerns among U.S. and South Korean officials. The U.S. warned of more sanctions if any weapons are transferred between Russia and North Korea. The meeting allowed Russia to irritate the U.S., which supports Ukraine, but it's still unclear how far Putin will go to meet North Korea's technological needs. U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres advised that any cooperation should respect existing sanctions. Future visits and talks between the two nations are planned, deepening their relationship.
