The flood situation in Australia has worsened as thousands of residents were ordered to leave their homes. The rivers in Sydney and some other parts of the country have crossed the danger mark. The authorities ordered about 50,000 residents in New South Wales to evacuate from flood-hit areas. "This event is far from over, please don't be complacent," New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet told reporters. "Wherever you are, please be careful when you're driving on our roads. There are still substantial risks for flash flooding," he further said. The federal government has declared the floods a natural disaster. Now, flood-hit residents can receive emergency funding support. The authorities have instructed the emergency response teams to continue their rescue operations. According to reports, the teams made 100 rescues overnight of people trapped in cars o flooded roads or inundated homes in the Sydney area.
