The Kashmir Valley and Himachal Pradesh witnessed fresh snowfall of the season, snapping road and air links with the rest of the country. While rains lashed states in north India that caused dipping in minimum temperature. The vehicular movement on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway was suspended following the snowfall, which also disrupted the air traffic to and fro Srinagar airport. According to the Meteorological Department, the north India is likely to witness an intense wet spell till Tuesday. The heavy rain lashed the national capital, where the minimum temperature settled at 9.9 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature settled at 15.8 degrees Celsius. The heavy rain caused waterlogging in many parts of the national capital. The snowfall in Kashmir began from Sunday night and continued till next day. Srinagar received about three to four inches of fresh snowfall. The areas around Jawahar Tunnel received about ten inches of snowfall, causing susension of traffic.
