Ahmedabad received an average of 25.8 mm of rainfall on Tuesday, causing waterlogging in several low-lying areas across the city. According to the India Meteorological Department, there was 50mm of rain in Maninagar, followed by 41mm in Rakhial, 36mm in Viratnagar, 35.5mm in Danapith, 34mm in Odhav, 30mm in Paldi, 23.5 mm in Usmanpura, 20.5mm in Ranip, 20mm in Chandkheda and 16mm in Bodakdev. The rainfall also caused traffic jam in some areas. People were seen wading through the water in the streets. Many social media users shared pictures of their houses submerged in rainwater. While some questioned the state authorities about the poor drainage system of the city. Opposition leaders also criticised the state government for waterlogging in several areas.
