Sai Pallavi essays the mother. The movie touches upon the issue of abortion and I can’t reveal anything more at this point of time,”

'Diya' is a woman-centric horror drama. The movie has been re-titled to Diya. Previously, it was named as Karu. The makers also didn’t reveal the reason behind the change of the title. The story revolves around a young woman who gets an abortion, but is haunted by a child whom she had aborted years ago. The main female lead Sai Pallavi is known to pick substantial roles and meaningful films. The actress has done only a handful of films so far. She is quite popular in Tamil Nadu. Also, Sai has worked Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut in Dham Dhoom.
