Customers can book a cab for immediate or pre-planned rides by chosing on ride now or ride later respectively on the home screen chosing from across categories like mini, sedan and prime or autos and kaali-peeli taxis wherever available.

ETAs across every category are displayed upfront to the user with available cars around the vicinity shown on the app. In addition to an immediate confirmation with all details including driver name with his/her photo, mobile number, car number and car make, customers can also see the ETA of their booked cab in real-time. All of these details are also sent via SMS to customers.

Customers can also share their ride details through SMS with their friends and family, which will include a unique link to track the location of the cab in real-time as well as all details of the cab and driver. The SOS button on the app which can be activated with one touch also sends out all ride details in real-time including GPS coordinates to pre-set friends or family members of the user via SMS and e-mail.

Ola has also taken the onus of installing an additional layer of GPS in all the cars on its platform over and above the existing layer of mobile GPS. Apart from the regular KYC document check conducted by Ola and other stakeholders, all drivers are now verified for antecedents and thorough background verification.
