Before entering the beauty pageant and winning the Miss World 1994, Aishwarya Rai Bachan had already started modelling for big brands like Coca Cola, Lakme Cosmetics, Philips, Palmolive, Lux and Fuji Films, etc. She is considered one of the world’s most beautiful women. Aishwarya was also named the official brand ambassador of De Beers Diamonds in India.

Worked in more than forty films in various languages, Mrs Bachan made her acting debut in a Tamil film ‘Iruvar’ in the year 1997 directed by Mani Ratnam. Although, her first successful film in the Tamil language was ‘Jeans’ in 1998.

Aishwarya's acting career in Bollywood has been a huge success. She gained limelight in Bollywood after her performance in the film 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' in 1999, opposite Salman Khan, directed by Sanjay Leela Bansali. The film got her first Filmfare award under the title of 'Best Actress'.
