Paris Haute Couture Week Fall/Winter 2023-24: Rahul Mishra celebrates the Indian artisan with his 'We, the People' collection

On Day 1 of the fashion showcase in Paris, designers presented extravagant designs that brought art, embroidery and fashion together. Among the creators was Indian designer Rahul Mishra who is becoming a regular fixture at Couture Week. This year has been fashionably big for Mishra. In January, he showcased his Haute Couture designs in Paris, where the Cosmos-inspired collection went viral globally. Fast forward to March, he became perhaps the most popular choice gracing the red carpet at the NMACC launch event in Mumbai. Once again, he graced the ramp with his extravagant collection in Paris. His work recognised true Indian craftsmanship as he did in his couture presentation, 'We, the People.' Motifs like the Bengal tiger and the lotus flower formed the icons of this collection that were all about delicate beads and beautiful patterns. The Fall/Winter 2023-24 collection also saw the debut of the now-dubbed Zendaya sari which the Hollywood actress wore at the NMACC launch event. From lehengas to sarees and elaborate gowns and dresses, Rahul Mishra's Haute collection had a desi element in some or another way you can't miss.
