New York Fashion Week 2023: Models walk the ramp wearing sindoor at Prabal Gurung's show, see pictures

Fashion Week has taken over New York City with Fall/Winter 2023 shows from brands including Rodarte, Thom Browne, Prabal Gurung and Eckhaus Latta. Amid the iconic backdrops and grand architecture at the historic New York Public Library, designers showcased their talent on the runway. Nepalese designer Prabal Gurung once again hit the headlines as he paid tribute to his roots with the designs. Models were seen in asymmetrical draping and a variety of outwear, walking on a mirrored floor beneath star projections. What caught the attention was the models walking the ramp sporting vermilion. The show explored the Buddhist concept of 'anichya' or impermanence. In wool jackets, butterfly motifs and hues of vermilion, saffron, burgundy and dusty pinks, Gurung paid a tribute to his homeland, Nepal, where he hasn't been since before the pandemic.
