Meet supermodel Kristen McMenamy whose power move after falling on Valentino runway went viral, see pictures

Kristen McMenamy, who has been walking in high-fashion shows since the 80s went viral after taking a tumble during the Valentino show at the 2023 Paris Haute Couture Week. Dressed in a sparkling gown and pink opera gloves, the 58-year-old model was captured wobbling in her black pointed-toe heels before falling on the runway. She soon took off the pumps and went on barefoot the rest of the way, giving the audience a viral moment. Multiple videos and pictures are doing the rounds on the internet which show McMenamy walking with heels in hand before throwing them off each side of the runway. In a cheeky nod to the viral moment, she later posted a stunning backstage picture on her Instagram account, which she captioned, "Before the Fall." Following the incident, fans slammed the luxury fashion house, accusing Valentino of putting their models in ill-fitting shoes and showcasing footwear that is not comfortable to walk in. Valentino released a statement saying, "Maison Valentino cares about the safety and wellbeing of the talented men and women hired to walk in the runway shows. Models were able to practice in the shoes and offered alternate shoe choices to ensure their comfort for the show." The veteran model, too, responded and wrote, "Thank you PP and House of Valentino!!!! I fv**ed up." This is not the first time McMenamy fall on the runway. In October 2022, she took a tumble as she walked the runway during Jean Paul Gaultier's Haute Couture show in Paris. McMenamy is particularly known for her eclectic allure.
