Meet Madeline Stuart, world's 1st Supermodel with Down Syndrome

Australian model with Down syndrome, Madeline Stuart has appeared on the New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Runway Dubai, Russian Fashion Week, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week China and many more. She was born on November 13, 1996, in Brisbane, Australia. She lost 17 kgs in 18-months before launching her career in the fashion world. Stuart has two modelling contracts under her belt—fitness-wear brand 'Manifesta' and one with the handbag brand 'everMaya'. "It’s a way to express myself when words don't always come easy. Plus I get to embrace society and hopefully make people feel more comfortable around people with disabilities", says Stuart in one of her interviews. After Jamie Brewer became the first-ever Down’s Syndrome model to walk at New York Fashion Week, it changed people's perception of disabilities. She is active on social media, with more than 300k Instagram followers and over 700k fans on Facebook. Stuart is an inspiration to her followers; her positive and self-appreciation posts has amassed a huge social media following. According to Stuart’s mother, Rosanne was told by doctors that Madeline had Down’s Syndrome six minutes after she was born.
