Ritviz, Raja Kumari and Prateek Kuhad kick-start the city’s big concerts with a bang

Hum to udd gaye, udd gaye’, sang the crowd together as Pune boy and popular singer-songwriter Ritviz pointed the mic towards them from the stage on Sunday. The singer was among a host of fantastic performers, including Prateek Kuhad, Raja Kumari, Madboy Mink, When Chai Met Toast and Yung Raja, who turned the last weekend into a wholesome treat for music lovers. All this, after a hiatus of two years! While smaller concerts have been happening in the city since COVID-19 guidelines were eased, this event marked Pune’s return to the big music-fest scene. And it happened with an eclectic mix of home-grown artists who made the audience sway to their music. Music lovers had a gala time at the concert as they dressed to the nines, and exuded rampaging energy as they returned to the music arena with the determination to avenge what they missed in the last couple of years, courtesy COVID-19. Performing some of the greatest hits at sundown, Saba Azad, along with her band Madboy/Mink brought the 70s disco funk to the stage as songwriter Kayan, Samar Mehdi, The Yellow Diary and many more had the crowd grooving. The audience slow-danced to Prateek Kuhad’s performance, which included the popular Cold/Mess and Just A Word, while Ritviz had the audience dance along on his popular numbers. Spotlighting the growing artists, the fest witnessed Seedhe Maut and Yung Raja spitting bars along with heart-thumping beats that had the crowd raging along. Singer and songwriter Raja Kumari was a musical sinew who brought the power on stage, with the audience singing along to her famed songs, including City Slums
