After a year-long break, city hosted Swara zankar

After a year-long break, Pune finally hosted Swara Zankar, the Hindustani classical music festival. This time the four-day music event happened in Ganesh Kala Krida Manch.
"We were happy to be able to host the music festival this year. We could not host this festival last year because of Covid 19," says Rajas Upadhye, organiser of the event. Keeping all the Covid protocols in mind, this year the event was held in a restricted manner. Unlike every year, this year the venue could only accommodate 50 per cent audience. "We made sure that everyone who came to attend the event carried their vaccination report. We also sincerely checked the temperature of everyone present there. Social distancing was maintained. The audience was cooperative and understood the sensitivity of the situation. Wearing a mask was mandatory at the venue, so everyone followed the rule strictly," says Rajas. Artists like Begum Parveen Sultana, Suresh Wadkar, Pandit Vijay Ghate, Pandit Atul Kumar Upadhye, Tejas Upadhye, Pandit Ramdas Palsule, Pandit Ronu Majumdar, Kalpesh Sachala, Rahul Deshpande performed at the four-day Hindustani classical music festival. The audience enjoyed the four-day festival to the fullest while keeping all the protocols in mind. It was after a long time that the city hosted a grand music festival, so people turned up in good amount to enjoy the evening. The organisers made sure that the environment and surroundings is safe for the audience and the artists. "We are very happy that music lovers came and attended the festival, we are thankful to the artists who stood by us and believed in us," says Rajas.
