Rajkummar Rao, Gulshan Devaiah, Huma Qureshi and others celebrate Badhaai Do's multiple wins at Filmfare Awards

Rajkummar Rao, Gulshan Devaiah, Chum Darang, Harshavardhan Kulkarni and others from team ‘Badhaai Do’ gathered to celebrate the film's big win at the Filmfare Awards 2023. The cast of the film, which won six awards, celebrated the event by cutting a cake. Celebrities like Huma Qureshi, Seema Pahwa, Abhishek Banerjee and many others graced the event with their presence. The cast and crew posed happily for the paparazzi after arriving at the party. Rajkummar Rao was seen in his casual best. Directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer 'Badhaai Do' was loved by the audiences ever since it was released last year in February 2022. It was a very well-made film that gave a very important message around the LGBTQ+ community, which explains why it was nominated in 14 categories at the Filmfare Awards 2023. The film won six awards out of the 14 categories. ‘Badhaai Do’ won Best Film (Critics'), Best Actor in a Leading Role for Rajkummar Rao, Best Actress (Critics') for Bhumi Pednekar, Best Screenplay Award for Akshat Ghildial, Suman Adhikary and Harshavardhan Kulkarni, Best Supporting Role for Sheeba Chaddha and Best Story for Akshat Ghildial and Suman Adhikary. The film showcases the story of two LGBTQ+ characters - a gay cop (played by Rajkummar Rao) and a lesbian teacher (played by Bhumi Pednekar), who entered a sham marriage to pacify their families. Chum Darang played the role of Rimjim, Bhumi Pednekar's girlfriend in the film, while Gulshan Devaiah had a cameo as Rajkummar Rao's partner. (All photos: Yogen Shah)
