Mumbai hosts its first queer made weekend to celebrate and support the LGBTQIA+ community

Mumbai is celebrating Pride Month with events and shows being hosted all across the city. Among them was the ‘Queer Made Weekend’, from music, dance and food to art, merch and home decor, the event had it all. The two-day festival was organised to celebrate, support and expand businesses and products made, owned or run by the LGBTQIA+ community. The event was held at the BKC in Mumbai. The event was more special because the participants were mostly from the LGBTQ community. The queer artistes, queer entrepreneurs and small business owners performed on stage and put up their creative stalls to showcase multiple talents. There were pop up stalls of home decor items, artifacts, paintings, tables dedicated to artistes, face painting booths, food and drink stalls and a stage that showcased performances by Suggahunny, Smruti Jalpur, Kali Billi Productions Pyaar Do Pyaar Lo, Wrisha Dutta Live, Wild Wild Women, Rani Ko-HE-Nur aka Sushant Divgikar with TopStorey on the first day, followed by Strum Away Collective, Gaia Meera and Mikhail, Flowers of the Blue Rain, Vandita Narayan, John Oinam and Kayan on the second day. Hosted by Teya and Mx Siaan, the show had the audience entertained through the evening and all the performers were applauded by the colourful crowd of people. The festival, curated by Tinder India and Gaysi Family will be held in Delhi next weekend.
