The cast and crew of ‘Ponniyin Selvan:1’, who are basking in the humongous success of their film, celebrated the success of ‘PS1’ in Chennai. The makers organised a special media event and a party, which was attended by director Mani Ratnam, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Abhishek Bachchan with Aishwarya Rai, Trisha and other cast and crew members. The celebration was organised in light of ‘Ponniyin Selvan:1’ breaching the Rs 500 crore mark at the global box office. Trisha took to her social media and shared glimpses of the good time she had with other stars. “The vibe is caption enough,” she captioned the reel full of pictures. ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’ revolves around the story of the early life of Arulmozhivarman (Ponniyin Selvan), who would become the Chola emperor Rajaraja I (947–1014). The film stars Jayam Ravi in the role of Arulmozhivarman while Vikram, Karthi, Trisha and Aishwarya Rai are in other prominent roles. The film was released in theatres across the globe in several languages such as Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Mani Ratnam had said in an interaction that the second part in the franchise will release in cinemas in another six to nine months and the team is currently busy with the post-production work.
