Hassan’s leather puppets take centre stage in Bengaluru

Award-winning artistes Delhi-based Anurupa Roy and Hassan-based Gunduraju’s latest play 'Mahabharata', rekindles Karnataka’s ancient puppetry tradition. The play uses the traditional format of storytelling, in which a series of questions are thrown at the audience. The 75-minute performance, which is taking place at Ranga Shakara on August 24 and 25, took three years to make, says Anurupa, who has conceptualised and directed it.
