Ellen proud of Dutee for opening up about her homosexuality

TV show host and one of the most famous comedians Ellen DeGeneres took to social media to praise Indian athlete Dutee Chand who recently opened up about her 'same-sex' relationship. Ellen, who herself came out as homosexual several years back and is an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, is married to actress and model Portia de Rossi. Ellen used her social media accounts to post a picture of Dutee holding a medal, she wrote, "She’s the 100m record holder and the first openly gay sportsperson in India. I guess she knows a thing or two about being first. I’m so proud of her." On May 19, Dutee the 100m record holder spoke about her relationship and her views on homosexuality, she said, “I am having a relationship with a 19-year-old woman from my village for the past five years. She is studying B.A. second year in a Bhubaneswar college. She is a relative of mine and whenever I come home, I spend time with her. She is a kind of soul-mate for me and I want to settle down with her in future. I will continue my athletics career. I am going to take part in the World University Games next month and hope to qualify for the World Championships later this year.
