Age is just a no. for Mammootty

Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil Ismail, who was born on September 7, 1951, is known by his stage name Mammootty. He is an actor who has predominantly worked in Malayalam cinema. In four decades, he has appeared in over 400 movies, mainly in Malayalam language and also in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and English. Mammootty used the stage name Sajin in his earlier movies. He won seven Kerala State Film Awards, thirteen Filmfare Awards South and three National Film Awards for Best Actor. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri for his contributions to the arts in 1998. In 2010, Mammootty received honorary doctorate degrees from the University of Kerala and the University of Calicut in December. He is the chairman of Malayalam Communications that runs the Malayalam television channels Kairali TV, People TV and WE TV. Mammootty is the goodwill ambassador of the Akshaya project. He is the patron of the Pain and Palliative Care Society, a charitable organisation in Kerala. (Photos: Instagram)
