Singer-songwriter Justin Townes Earle passes away at the age of 38

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Justin Townes Earle and son of singer Steve Earle died at the age of 38. According to a media portal, the official announcement of the demise of the singer was made on his social media accounts. "It is with tremendous sadness that we inform you of the passing of our son, husband, father, and friend Justin," read the statement on the singer's Facebook and Instagram. "So many of you have relied on his music and lyrics over the years and we hope that his music will continue to guide you on your journeys. You will be missed dearly Justin," the statement further read. The cause of the death of the singer-songwriter has not yet been disclosed. Earle released his first EP 'Yuma' in 2007 and was later signed by 'Bloodshot' for his full-length debut 'The Good Life' in its following year. The musician's cause of death was not revealed in the statement.

Born in Nashville, Earle started his journey in the US music scene with local band.

Justin Townes Earle released eight albums in his career, which saw him honored twice at the Americana Music awards.

Earle struggled with drug and alcohol addiction throughout his life.

Justin Townes Earle survived five heroin overdoses by the time he was 21 and was also fired from his father's band, the Duke, due to his drug abuse.

Justin Townes Earle has left behind his wife Jenn Marie and daughter Etta St James, who was born in July 2017.

Justin Townes Earle was a son of alternative country artist Steve Earle and was named after Townes Van Zandt.

Earle worked as a guitarist and keyboardist for his father's touring band the Dukes.
