Former Miss India and actress Alankrita Sahai held hostage and robbed

Former Miss India and actress Alankrita Sahai was held hostage and robbed of Rs 6,50,000 at knifepoint in her rented accommodation in Sector 27 at Chandigarh. As per reports, three unknown masked men forcibly entered her home, which was situated on the second floor of a three-storey building during the afternoon earlier this week. Sahai had purchased a few furniture items a couple of days back from Kharar and a few items were delivered on Sunday. The actress suspects that one of the robbers had visited her home at the time of delivery of furniture. She also told police that one of them took her ATM card and returned after withdrawing Rs. 50,000. However, the two robbers, who had been keeping watch, managed to enter her room through the balcony, forcing her to rush inside the washroom. Fearing for her life, after they broke the exhaust fan of the washroom and demanded money, Alankrita Sahai threw Rs 6 lakh out of the room. Finally when Alankrita shouted for help, the robbers escaped by jumping from the balcony. The culprits first landed on the first-floor balcony and then to the ground floor before running away with the money. Alankrita is said to have been allegedly assaulted by the suspects.
